About the Role

You will lead agricultural strategy from R&D to program improvements to maximize the Social Return on Investment (SROI) and lead transformative agricultural impact. This involves evaluating and scaling agricultural practices, products, and services, informed by client needs and market trends. You will roll out and scale impactful interventions and encourage adoption through your expertise in extension and behavior change strategies. You will report to the Country Director and help enhance our impact at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Impact Strategy, Modeling, and Reporting: Develop long-term impact strategy and models, aligning with organizational goals. Present impact results to all team members. Engage with global teams to align impact modeling and reporting practices.
  • Data Analysis: Oversee the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team to collect and analyze data on farmer revenues, costs, and adoption rates. Calculate annual crop impact and add-on impact using rigorous evaluation methods.
  • Product Portfolio Management: Identify agricultural products and services by analyzing adoption potential and additional impact per adopter. Trial and evaluate new interventions.
  • Collaboration: Partner with extension, supply chain, and other teams to improve adoption of impactful products and services. Provide data-driven insights to guide pricing, marketing strategies, and enrollment processes
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on agricultural trends, farmer needs, and market conditions. Propose and implement improvements to product impact calculation methodologies and data collection processes.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • 5+ years of work experience in agricultural product and service R&D, social behavior change (SBC), or research.
  • Experience applying HCD principles to develop client-centric solutions.
  • Proficiency with statistical software for complex data analysis and modeling.
  • Postgraduate degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Systems, Agronomy, Development Studies, or related fields preferred but not strictly required.
  • Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Kiswahili is not required, but an added advantage.

Eligibility

One Acre Fund can support a work permit for this role. However, nationals of (or those with an extensive professional background and work history in our countries of operation are preferred.
