AIC Kijabe as is known today was established in 1915 as a small outpatient clinic within the grounds of the Rift Valley Academy and was originally named Theodora Hospital. The hospital celebrated its centenary in May 2015 and is a multi-specialty facility currently with a bed capacity of 363, serving patients from all over Kenya and other African countries. KH is a faith-based hospital sponsored by the Africa Inland Church, Kenya, and has recently been classified as a level 6BNational Tertiary Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize team and staff to meet operational and medical care requirements of the paediatric wards and patients
- Oversee rounds in PICU, NICU, and general wards, including consults from surgical teams. This includes managing consultations with other specialists/subspecialists as needed for patient care
- Maintenance of paediatric database to record information and keep record of information being followed by the department
- Education of students and interns on the team to ensure proper education and learning of diagnostic and management of paediatric cases that span a wide variety of topics
- Help team to develop, review, and champion the implementaion of clinical protocols within inpatient and outpatient services
- Participate in administrative duties as they arise, which may include education, championing projects within the department, research, outreach goals and quality improvement plans
Applicants Qualifications, Experience, Competencies and Attributes
- Bachelors Degree in Medicine and Surgery
- Registered with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
- Pocess a valid practicing license
- Master of Medicine in Paediatrics and Child Health
