Roles & Responsibilities:
- Drive the tax compliance and planning agenda for all tax heads (Income Tax, Withholding Taxes, VAT, Excise duty, Payroll & Customs) affecting the business and review tax returns for each tax obligation.
- Advisory to the Company specific transactions including reviewing customers’ and suppliers’ contracts and highlighting tax exposure areas and ensure that businesses take advantage of existing double tax treaties when contracting.
- Supervising duty remission program to ensure the business obtains optimal tax benefits from the scheme.
- Preparing the Companies’ current tax and deferred tax calculations and analyze the effective tax rate.
- Liaise with external tax auditors in preparation of end of year statutory financial statements.
- Provide leadership in tax risk mitigation plans and proactively advise the business on new legislation that may lead to tax exposure in the markets where the businesses operate.
- Ensuring all changes in tax laws affecting the business are implemented in a timely manner.
Monitoring key-related party transactions that may lead to transfer pricing risks.
- Work closely with tax consultants to develop robust transfer pricing policies, perform periodic reviews and align the same with local income tax laws and Organization for Economic and Cooperation Development guidelines.
- Providing support for external audits, internal compliance checks and participating in monthly, quarterly, and yearly compliance audits and health checks.
- Work in collaboration with tax consultants in handling audit queries raised by the revenue authority and implement agreed upon decisions.
- Resolving any tax assessments with the tax authority and developing mitigation measures to avoid future tax exposures.
- Act as the link between business and key stakeholders like external tax consultants, external auditors, tax authorities, lobby groups and banks on business matters.
- Ensuring all banking and cash operations are within the company policies.
- Ensuring the Company maintains adequate funds to meet financial obligations as and when they fall due through effective cash-flow management.
- In liaison with banks adopt an optimal hedging strategy against exchange risk exposure.
- Closely monitoring and supervising credit control operations by ensuring that customers trade within their credit terms and adopt strategies to mitigate credit exposure.
- Ensuring all Company assets are adequately insured against all potential risks and perils.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors’ degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economic
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA-K/ACAA).
- 10 +years’ experience in Accounting or Finance, 5 years of which in similar role in the manufacturing industry.

Job Purpose
- The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible to advise, support and deliver key HR functions in line with the business objectives to attain a high performing workforce at the regional level.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the formulation, implementation & review of the HR strategy.
- Contribute to the regional budgeting process with a major focus on people budget lines.
- Support new stores by providing a workforce in line with the timelines.
- Contribute to the development, review and implementation/embedding of HR policies & standard operating procedures in the region.
- Implement talent development & L&D strategies within the region.
- Facilitate implementation of all HR projects in the region.
- Oversee operational excellence in all the branches in the region.
- Work closely with branch management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
- Budget control in terms of overtime, salary, and staff welfare costs at the branch level.
- Responsible for cascading communication and collecting feedback on HR matters at the regional level
- Monitor staff numbers at the branch & taking corrective action to ensure it is at the optimal level.
- Manage & resolves complex employee relational issues.
- Provide day to day performance management to branch managers through coaching, counselling, career development etc.
- Provide HR policy guidance & interpretation to the branch management & regional leadership.
- Spearhead change management processes at the branch level
- Attend to staff welfare matters such as medical cover, compensation and benefits, and staff safety.
- Ensure total adherence to compliance regulations such as labour laws, SOP’s, and rules & regulations.
- Facilitate the required licenses such as medical certificates in line with the OSHA act.
- Ensure there is a proper staffing schedule to cater to the rest days of the staff and uninterrupted workflow at the store.
DESIRED QUALIICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Manager
- Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management
- At least 5 years of experience as a HR Generalist
