Position Functions:
The holder of the position will report to the Director General and will be responsible for the following specific functions:
- Formulation and implementation of overall NMK policies and strategies for human resources management and administration;
- Coordinating and monitoring implementation of NMK human resource and administrative policies;
- Advising the Board of Directors and management of NMK on all matters relating to human resources and administration;
- Coordinating Human Resources Planning and Development;
- Accounting for and coordinating the planning and execution of the directorate budget;
- Ensuring that terms and conditions of service for the NMK staff are documented and implemented:
- Coordinating the planning of procurement, allocation and utilization of supplies;
- Coordinating the management of NMK physical assets;
- Liaising with relevant Government Ministries and other institutions on general administrative matters;
- Ensure availability of appropriate insurance policies for staff, assets and collections;
- Assisting the Director General in preparation of Board of Directors meetings and implementation of Board decisions; and
- Oversee planning and strategy, transport, security, marketing, information technology, and maintenance functions.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
- Twelve (12) years relevant work experience, five (5) of which should have been in Management position.
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration/Human Resource/Public Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration/Human Resource/Public Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Be a registered member of Institute of Human Resource Management in good standing
- Leadership Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Demonstrated professional competence and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
- Fulfil the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution

Position Functions:
The holder of the position will report to the Director General and will be responsible for the following specific functions:
- Providing secretariat to the Board Audit committee
- Formulating and coordinate the implementation of internal audit policies, strategies and plans;
- Compiling and issue internal audit reports;
- Provide leadership in special audits as may be required by audit committee or management upon approval by audit committee;
- Setting up and implement systems in accordance with auditing standards;
- Testing the efficacy of the risk assessment systems;
- Monitoring and reporting on the Board overall risk profile;
- Supporting various departments in risk profiling;
- Reviewing correctness and accuracy of accounting reports;
- Providing of independent assurance on risk management process on both design and operation; and
- Assuring on risk control effectiveness, efficiency and adequacy and risk management processes.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
- Twelve (12) years relevant work experience five (5) of which should have been in management position;
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option) or relevant field from a recognized university;
- Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Master of science (Finance) Business Administration (Accounting/Finance Option) or relevant field from a recognized institution;
- Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (K) or its equivalent qualification;
- Be a registered member of ICPAK in good standing and OR
- Be a Member of the IIA/ISACA in good standing;
- Leadership Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Demonstrated professional competence and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
- Fulfil the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.
