Job Summary:
- As a Commission-Based Collections Agent, you will be responsible for contacting clients, following up on outstanding payments, and ensuring timely collections for the credit portfolio in line with Numida’s policies in line with Numida’s policies. You will work closely with the Credit Operations team, ensuring client accounts are effectively managed, and contributing to the overall success of the collections effort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly contact clients to recover overdue amounts, follow up on promises to pay, and maintain accurate records of interactions in the CRM.
- Visit clients in the field to recover payments when necessary, while maintaining professionalism and compliance with the organization's standards.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly updates to the Team Leaders and Credit Operations
- Manage recovery progress and challenges faced in the field.
- Establish positive relationships with clients to encourage timely payments and resolve any issues leading to delayed collections.
- Ensure all interactions and recovery methods are in line with Numida's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Meet or exceed the set collection targets, maximizing recovery efforts across the assigned client base.
- Work closely with team leaders, supervisors, and other stakeholders to align recovery strategies with company goals.
- Quickly identify client issues and develop strategies to rehabilitate and retain clients to avoid further loan defaults.
- Assist with other tasks as required by management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in debt collection, credit recovery, or customer service.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to negotiate and handle difficult conversations professionally.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using CRM systems and digital tools for tracking collections.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess client behavior and determine the best recovery approach.
- Resilience & Persistence: Ability to work under pressure, meet targets, and handle rejection positively.
- Field Experience: Prior experience conducting field collections is an advantage.
- Fluency in English & Swahili: Additional local languages are a plus.

- Recovery Rate: Achieve a minimum recovery percentage of assigned delinquent loans per month.
- Promise-to-Pay (PTP) Conversion: Successfully convert a high percentage of client commitments into actual payments.
- Field Visit Effectiveness: Ensure timely and productive field visits, with a focus on high-risk clients and overdue payments.
- Client Retention: Successfully rehabilitate and retain a percentage of clients through effective negotiations.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain 100% adherence to Numida’s SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and proper CRM documentation.
- Team Collaboration: Actively contribute to collections team success by sharing insights and strategies to improve recovery performance.
