    POSITION SUMMARY

    • The Farm Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management and oversight of a start-up poultry project, reporting directly to the farm owner. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and comprehensive agribusiness expertise.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Operations Management

    • Oversee day-to-day poultry care, including feeding, watering and overall health monitoring
    • Optimize farm production while maintaining the highest quality standards of poultry welfare
    • Coordinate with veterinary services for preventive care and treatment of poultry
    • Identify risks (e.g. disease outbreaks, feed shortages) and develop mitigation strategies
    • Recruit, train and manage farm staff to ensure smooth operations as the poultry project expands

    Financial Management

    • Manage operating budget and maintain monthly financial records
    • Oversee procurement, storage and distribution of feeds, supplies, and equipment
    • Track inventory and production metrics and maintain accurate monthly reporting on production, feed consumption, mortality rates and vaccination schedules
    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement to ensure profitability
    • Provide monthly operations and performance updates to farm owners

    Sales & Distribution

    • Coordinate the sale and delivery of poultry by developing and maintaining good relationships with buyers, suppliers and other stakeholders
    • Manage relationships with key customers and ensure accurate bookkeeping of all transactions
    • Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and demand for poultry products
    • Analyze production data to identify trends and improve poultry sales

    Facility Management

    • Regular cleaning and disinfection of poultry houses and equipment, including proper disposal of poultry waste to maintain environmental cleanliness
    • Maintain farm infrastructure and equipment, and schedule preventive maintenance and repairs
    • Oversee facility improvements and expansion projects
    • Implement the highest standards of security measures to mitigate theft

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Animal Science, Agribusiness, or related field
    • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in livestock and poultry farm management
    • Strong knowledge of agricultural markets, operations and animal husbandry
    • Proven leadership and team management experience
    • Proficiency in MS Office and farm management software
    • Ability to perform physical farm work in various weather conditions, with capability to lift up to 25kg when necessary
    • Valid driver's license
