Key Result Areas (KRAs)

1. Transmission System Management

• Ensure optimal functionality and availability of all installed transmission equipment (e.g., FM, AM, or DAB transmitters).

• Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on RF systems.

• Monitor signal quality and rectify any degradation promptly.

• Maintain compliance with regulatory transmission standards and safety protocols.

2. Power and Backup Systems

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of backup power systems, including generators and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS).

• Ensure generators have sufficient fuel and are tested regularly.

• Troubleshoot and resolve power supply issues to avoid downtime.

3. Link Management

• Manage point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links for reliable connectivity between studios and transmission sites.

• Address any link failures swiftly to minimize service interruptions.

• Collaborate with network engineers to optimize link configurations and reduce latency.

4. Client Support and Communication

• Provide first-level technical support to clients hosted at the site.

• Address client complaints or requests promptly, escalating complex issues as necessary.

• Maintain open communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and long-term relationships.

5. Safety and Security Compliance

• Enforce safety standards across all operations, ensuring adherence to electrical and RF exposure guidelines.

• Conduct regular safety drills and inspections at the site.

• Ensure site security measures, including restricted access and surveillance, are operational.

6. Record Keeping and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, incident reports, and equipment performance logs.

• Prepare periodic reports on site operations, including downtime analysis and resource usage.

7. Team Leadership and Coordination

• Supervise on-site technicians and ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers for equipment procurement and service agreements.

• Train and mentor junior staff on technical and safety procedures.

8. Continuous Improvement and Innovation

• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance system performance and operational efficiency.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies in broadcasting and power management.

• Propose upgrades or new solutions to management for consideration. Performance Indicators

• Uptime percentage of transmission systems and power backups.

• Mean time to repair (MTTR) for technical faults.

• Client satisfaction levels based on feedback and resolution time.

• Compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

• Accuracy and timeliness of reports and logs.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree / Higher Diploma in Telecommunication/ Electrical and Electronics.
  • At least 2 years of experience.
  • EPRA Certification is added advantage.
  • Knowledge of generators is an added advantage
  • IT Skills are requirement, should be proficient in using Word & Excel.
  • Solar Certification is an added advantage.
