Research Scientist (Qualitative)

Key Responsibilities:
- Organize data collection (recruiting participants, gaining consent, arranging interviews, training community members).
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders in the research sites (community representatives, government representatives, policy makers, traditional authority representatives, academics NGOs, faith leaders and others as required)
- Responsible for gathering qualitative data through interviews, focus group discussions, and non-participant observation.
- Arranging and completing transcription and translation of qualitative data
- Coding and analysing the transcribed data (using Nvivo software for which training will be provided) and share the analysis with the international team.
- Responsible for the secure storage and management of the data gathered and transcribed, in accordance with the data protection policy.
- Participate in team meetings and supervision, as well as peer learning sessions organized by the PI and the study team.
Vacancy Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (e.g. public health, psychology, social policy, economics, politics, sociology, economic and social history, biology, social work, anthropology, development studies, or other disciplines) Mandatory
- Conducting qualitative research including focus group discussions, in-depth interviews, or observation work will be an added advantage Added Advantage
- Training in transcribing and translating qualitative data Mandatory
- Evidence of ability to establish rapport with members of the community Mandatory
- Strong IT skills, and able to work collaboratively online with colleagues in other settings Mandatory
- Good administrative and project management skills Mandatory
