Reporting to the Director General, the overall responsibility will be to coordinate effective procurement of goods and services in accordance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act and Regulations and related statutes.
Duties & Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities will include:-
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly reports relating to tenders and contracts in line with Public Procurement Regulatory Authority for compliance with procurement legislation;
- Oversee the preparation of the division work plan through needs assessment and subsequent human resource matching to ensure all tasks are carried out in a timely and complete manner;
- Procurement contracts management;
- Provide input into the preparation of the division budget through needs assessment and subsequent resource matching to ensure availability of financial resources in a timely and complete manner to facilitate achievement of the division mandate;
- Overseeing and updating approved list of the Service’s registered suppliers;
- Prepare quarterly reports relating to tenders and contracts in line with the Procurement Act for subsequent submission to the accounting officer for approval and further publication to the Service website;Guide the Service staff on matters relating to procurement in line with procurement regulations and Service procedures to ensure adherence and compliance;
- Ensure prompt payment of all suppliers through authorizing payments to ensure that all suppliers are paid on time and as per the contract terms;
- Facilitate timely provision of goods and services to user departments in the Service through overseeing purchasing, tender/planning, stores and stock control to ensure timely and complete provision of required resources;
- Offer professional opinion to the accounting officer on matters relating to tenders and contracts to ensure compliance with Procurement and Asset Disposal Act;
- Serve as Secretary to all ad hoc evaluation committees through provision of secretarial and professional advice to ensure compliance with relevant procurement legislations.
Job Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Procurement and Supplies Management, Procurement and Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution;
- A Minimum of ten (10) year’s relevant work experience, at least five (5) Years’ experience in Senior Management position;
- Be a member of professional body either KISM or CIPS in good standing;
- Undertaken a leadership Management Course lasting not less than four weeks from a recognized institution;
- Proficiency in computer application;
- A valid practice license from KISM; and
- Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
The successful candidate will be engaged on contract terms of up to five (5) years renewable subject to performance and retirement age.
Senior Assistant Director, Corporate Communication – Job Grade D4(4)- Job TypeFull Time

Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, the overall responsibility will be to develop and implement the corporate brand and communication strategy for the Service policies and plans.
Duties & Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities will include:-
- Oversee review and development of corporate communication policies and strategies;
- Advice the Service on the best media practices;
- Oversee the Service’s public functions and corporate events;
- Coordinate development of corporate brand strategy;
- Coordinate review, development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for the department;
- Design, innovate and recommend corporate materials for building the Service’s brand;
- Coordinate content creation, editing and approve blog posts, articles, newsletters, communication materials and material for social media platforms;
- Leverage on social media by creating, managing and growing the Service’s presence through blogs; X, Facebook, Instagram and other strategically relevant online properties;
- Ensure that the Service’s website and digital platforms are updated;
- Build and maintain consistent branding, corporate identity across relevant public relations;
- Keep the Service up to date on industry trends;
- Manage digital and media relations including information sharing and invitations for Service’s events;
- Manage and nurture relations with stakeholders;
- Liaise with media practitioners and the public on issues of mutual concern to ensure only relevant information is disseminated;
- Ensure maintenance of corporate communication records and photographs; and
- Monitoring and measuring public relations and communications effectiveness.
Job Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Public Relations, Mass Communication, International Relations, Journalism or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Public Relations, Mass Communication, International Relations, Journalism or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- At least ten (10) years relevant experience, five (5) years of which must have been in management role;
- Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Principal Aircraft Pilot (Helicopter) – Job Grade C5(7) – Two (2) Posts- Job TypeFull Time

Reporting to the Accountable Manager - KWS Airwing, the overall responsibility will be to undertake aerial surveillance for effective provision of wildlife management services and Service air transport.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Fly the Service’s Helicopters for effective aerial work and conservation area administration;
- Conduct commercial flights in accordance with industry and institutional standards;
- Conduct base checks and proficiency checks on other pilots as assigned;
- Ascertain aircraft fitness for flight as per pilots operating handbook and legal requirements;
- Maintain flight records for every flight;
- Locate animals during translocation;
- Participate in aerial security operations as may be required;
- Handling VIPs;
- Collect flight information like NOTAMS Weather from the flight briefing office;
- File flight information with the control tower;
- Train other pilots;
- Prepare, revise and periodically check aircraft equipment and inventories;
- Supervise the Pilots at Flight Stimulator tests associated with Instrument Rating Certificates; and
- Liaise with KCAA (Navigation Aids Inspection) for analysis of calibration flight data and submission of reports
Job Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
- Kenyan Private Pilot License – Helicopter (PPL-H);
- Kenyan Commercial Pilot License - Helicopter (CPL-H);
- Have a minimum 1,000 Pilot in Command (PIC) hours of Helicopter Pilot;
- Have passed the KCAA Gas-turbine exam;
- Must have a Current Class 1 Medical Certificate from a KCAA approved medical practitioner;
- Must have Minimum Academic Qualification of KCSE B- (minus);
- Age – 40 years and below;
- Must be ready to cope with off-base field operations; and
- Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
